Governor Buni Donates N100M and Food Supplies to Maiduguri Flood Victims

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has extended a heartfelt gesture of solidarity to the people of Borno State following the recent devastating flood in Maiduguri. During a visit to his Borno State counterpart, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, Governor Buni announced a donation of N100 million to support the flood victims. Additionally, he personally contributed N50 million worth of food supplies to aid those affected by the disaster.

Strengthening Bonds of Brotherhood

Speaking during the visit, Governor Buni expressed deep sympathy for the victims of the flood, describing the humanitarian crisis as catastrophic and calling on everyone to extend their support.

“Yobe and Borno States are like twins that have suffered similar challenges and must continue to support each other,” Governor Buni said. He also offered prayers for the repose of the souls lost in the tragedy and for the speedy recovery of those injured.

Governor Zulum Commends Yobe’s Support

In response, Governor Zulum praised Governor Buni and the people of Yobe State for their unwavering support and solidarity.

“The people of Yobe and Borno States remain one united family—what affects one, affects the other,” he remarked. Governor Zulum further acknowledged Governor Buni’s consistent efforts in fostering unity and providing support during challenging times.

“Your Excellency, my elder brother, has continually strengthened the ties between Borno and Yobe States. This generous gesture is yet another testament to your kind-hearted leadership,” Zulum added.
